Singorama – How Does It Compare to Singing Success
A beautiful singing voice has always been the object of accolades and envy. Whether it’s at a rock concert, a church service, or a karaoke bar, there is nothing like hearing an accomplished vocalist belt out a melody. Most people think that a great singing voice is naturally endowed to a select few and there is no way to learn how to sing. Wrong! There are currently products for sale on the Internet that will have you singing like a professional in a matter of months. One of these instructional programs is the Singorama: How to Sing Like a Professional package.
Course Basics
By purchasing the Singorama package you receive a number of materials that should improve your singing. Two e-books, 28 audio lessons and three separate software packages are yours when you buy this product. The three computer-based products are Jayde Musica Pro, Singorama Mini Recording Studio 2, and Perfect Your Pitch Pro. Also there are a number of bonuses you receive, which I’ll detail later.
The two e-books that come as a part of this program are Advanced Learning Techniques for Singers and The Ultimate Beginners’ Guide to Music Theory & Reading Music. The Ultimate Beginners’ Guide does a great job of teaching the basics of singing professionally, especially when explaining how to read sheet music. However, it is redundant and superfluous for those that have a strong music background. Advanced Learning Techniques for Singers has valuable tips and drills but overall it doesn’t add that much value to the course.
Singorama just recently upgraded its package to include 28 audio lessons. The audio lessons are the most effective learning tool that Singorama offers. Singing is dependent on hearing; so it makes sense that audio files would be the best way to learn to sing. The other beneficial thing about the audio files is that they allow you to learn to sing in a group setting, as well as by yourself. The first audio lessons are geared towards beginners and they gradually get more advanced. However, the lessons end before you obtain a professional quality voice. So contrary to what the makers of Singorama want you to believe, the audio lessons won’t teach you to “sing like a professional”.
Jayde Musica Pro, Perfect Your Pitch Pro and Mini Recording Studio are the names of the software programs provided with the Singorama system. These software programs allow you to record yourself singing. Perfect Your Pitch Pro, as the name suggests, records you singing and then instructs you as to how to achieve the tone you desire. I found this to be an especially useful program and one of the major pros of the Singorama package. The Mini Recording Studio allows you to record yourself singing over a background of various instruments and back-up singers. It gives you the thrill of singing in a band without having to worry about actually finding a band. The Mini Recording Studio is a fun, not really instructional, feature of the Singorama package.
Bonus Features
In addition to the standard features Singorama offers a number of bonuses. There are four bonuses in all: Vocal Warm-ups, Vocal Strengthening Exercises, Range Extension Exercises, and Interval Training for Singers. These audio lessons teach you the nuances of singing that separate great singers from good ones. As such, they add a lot of value to the overall program. The Interval Training for Singers in particular teaches a facet of singing that is generally not covered by singing tutorials.
Price/Guarantee Information
Singorama sells for a price $99.95. At first blush a hundred bucks for a singing program seems a little steep but if you think about the cost of private lessons then this package is a bargain. The Singorama package also gives you a lot of bang-for-your-buck compared to other on-line singing tutorials. Couple the reasonable price with an eight-week, no questions asked, money-back guarantee and you have yourself quite a value.
Bottom Line
The Singorama package is great for novice singers. Singorama will take you from not knowing how to read music to being able to impress friends and family with your voice. It does have some limitations as far as teaching the more advanced subject matter; if you use this program expect to have to take private singing lessons in order to “sing like a professional”. I also found the e-books to be only average and I would have liked more audio lessons. That is why Singorama, while being a fine program, isn’t my recommended singing tutorial. That honor goes to Singing Success.
